Take one of our free tours and discover the architecture, art and work of the Scottish Parliament. Each tour lasts 1 hour, with the exception of our 10-minute introductory talks.

THE PARLIAMENT TOUR
The Scottish Parliament Tour is a one-hour guided tour where you can explore the Scottish Parliament further by discovering the history, work and procedures of the Parliament and learn about the architecture of the award winning Scottish Parliament building.
The tour is suitable for visitors of all ages and free to attend, although advanced booking is strongly recommended.
THE ARCHITECTURE TOUR
The Architecture Tour: Democracy by Design is a special tour originally launched as part of The Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design 2016.
Discover more about the inspiration behind the architectural design which led to the creation of the accessible and award-winning Parliament building. This tour explains the purpose, design and symbolism of the Scottish Parliament building and its many uses.
THE ART TOUR
The Art Tour – Discover the Art of Parliament is a tour where you will discover a selection from the Scottish Parliament Art Collection.
The collection on display throughout the Parliament building includes artworks from over 40 Scottish contemporary artists showcasing a variety of types of work and media – from oil paintings to sculptures, photography, textiles and installations.
THE LITERATURE TOUR
Literature Tour – Language and the Land – explores the language and writing associated with the Parliament and the landscape which inspried the design of the award-winning Parliament building.
The tour visits the Dewar Room in the 17th century Queensberry House, the oldest building in the Parliament campus, before ending in the Media Gallery of the Debating Chamber.
Free 10-Minute Introductory Talks – If you’re running to a tight schedule, why not take advantage of our free 10-minute public talks to learn about the Scottish Parliament.
The talks introduce you to the history of the Scottish Parliament, the work of our Members and the architecture and design of our building. These talks are available most days; for further information, please contact Visitor Services staff.
